Jon talks with Monica Martinez of Comerica Bank and Vittoria Katanski of Hatch Detroit all about the Small Business Alumni Relief Fund to help entrepreneurs who have been financially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Monica Martinez
Martinez joined Comerica in 2006, and under her leadership,
Comerica has been named to the Hispanic Business Magazine’s
Diversity Elite 60 list (in the top 10) in addition to being
highlighted as the number one company for Supplier Diversity for
two consecutive years, and Latina Style Magazine named Comerica as
one of the top companies for Latinas to work. Additionally, during
her tenure, Comerica launched a Spanish website and began accepting
the Matricula Consular identification card at Comerica banking
centers nationwide.
Fluent in Spanish and English, Martinez holds a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University, where she majored in International Business with a focus in Marketing. For her graduate work, she studied Interdisciplinary Technology with a concentration in Business Management at Eastern Michigan University. She earned certificates in Nonprofit Management from Duke University and Corporate Community Relations Management from Boston College. Martinez also is a graduate of the prestigious SMU Management program and is certified in Diversity Management from Cornell University.
Martinez actively serves on the board of the Michigan Hispanic Chamber, SER Jobs for Progress National, New Detroit, the Metropolitan Affairs Coalition, and is the chairperson of the Girl Scouts of Southeast Michigan Hispanic Advisory committee.
Vittoria Katanski
Vittoria is the Executive Director of Hatch Detroit. She has spent
the majority of her career and personal life working on positive
projects in the City of the Detroit. Using a combination of her
background in Marketing and Urban Planning she has been able to
provide unique ways to move the city forward through the creation
of targeted neighborhood marketing efforts, and creation of area
specific events. She is a resident of the City of Detroit, and
believes the City to be one of the best places to live and raise a
family. She resides in West Village with her husband, son and three
dogs. She is a runner, a rower with the Detroit Boat Club Crew, and
cures her own meats.
